Hello friends and neighbors,

As the air starts to cool and the rhythm of a new school year begins, I feel a familiar sense of purpose and optimism. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the noise and division of national politics, but I've always believed the most powerful antidote is positive, local action. Right here, on our streets and in our neighborhoods, we have the power to build the community we want to live in.

That's what this campaign for Burlington City Council is all about. It’s a movement powered by our shared love for this community and a steadfast belief in its potential. As we kick into high gear for the fall, I want to share what you can expect from our campaign—not just in our message, but in our actions.

1. A Personal, Grassroots Conversation This campaign will live on our sidewalks and in our neighborhoods. Just as I did when I first ran for Mayor, I plan on wearing out a few pairs of shoes between now and November. But this isn't just about me talking; it's about listening. We will be knocking on thousands of doors, making phone calls, and creating opportunities to hear your ideas, concerns, and hopes for Burlington. This is a campaign built on dialogue.

2. A Relentless Focus on Competent Solutions You deserve leaders who do their homework. Our campaign will be a constant source of practical, well-researched ideas for how to get our city back on track. We will talk seriously about restoring fiscal discipline, the absolute necessity of a real Capital Improvement Plan, and how smart, strategic investments can improve our quality of life without burdening taxpayers. We will offer a clear, positive contrast based on expertise and preparation.

3. A Beacon of Hope and Positivity In a time of so much cynicism, we are building a campaign that serves as a beacon of hope. Every event we hold and every conversation we have will be rooted in a positive vision for what we can achieve together. We will focus on what unites us—our shared love for Burlington—and work to bring more people into the civic process, especially those who feel their voices aren't being heard.

How You Can Be a Part of It

This vision only becomes a reality with you. We are building a team of passionate, dedicated neighbors, and there is a role for everyone.

This fall, we have a choice. We can accept things as they are, or we can roll up our sleeves and build the future we know is possible.

For the love of Burlington, let's get to work.

Yours in service,

Ian Baltutis
