We The People: Celebrating the Alamance Piecemakers Quilt Guild at Burlington City Hall

If you visit the Burlington City Hall foyer this month, you will see a remarkable piece of local artistry: the USA 250th Anniversary "We The People" Quilt crafted by the talented members of the Alamance Piecemakers Quilt Guild.

Growing up with a mother who is a quilter, I’ve seen firsthand the countless hours, meticulous precision, and sheer patience poured into every stitch of a project like this. But what makes this showcase truly special goes beyond the vibrant patchwork on the front—it is the living story recorded on the back.

A Tapestry of Lived Experiences

When you look at the back of the quilt, you will find personal inscriptions, inspiring quotes, and a map listing all the different states where these quilters have lived throughout their lives.

This display serves as a powerful reminder of how our community thrives:
