Our history of collaboration spans more than a decade. I still vividly recall when Governor Cooper called to personally congratulate me following my first election as Mayor of Burlington in 2015, thanking me for stepping up and offering his partnership to deliver good, accountable government.
Since that day, we have worked together on major initiatives that continue to move Burlington and Alamance County forward:
Expanding Local Transit: Collaborating to launch and expand Link Transit, bicycle connectivity, and greenway networks that connect residents to jobs and healthcare.
Revitalizing Downtown: Directing state and municipal resources into our downtown core to foster small business growth and local entrepreneurship.
Targeted Economic Development: Partnering on proactive economic development drives that brought high-quality jobs and advanced manufacturing to our backyard.
Taking Practical Leadership to Raleigh
Real progress requires rolling up our sleeves and building collaborative coalitions. In the General Assembly, I will bring this same pragmatic, executive approach to state government, protecting local autonomy, defending the Governor's veto, and ensuring our tax dollars directly lower the cost of living for working families.
