Hello Neighbors,
Another fantastic weekend of conversations is in the books, and I want to thank every single person who took the time to share what’s on their mind. My belief that this campaign must be a grassroots, listening-focused effort has never been stronger.
The message I’m hearing at the door is clear and consistent. You are feeling the pressure.
You’ve told me about the strain of rising city taxes and higher utility bills, making it harder to manage your household budget. You've shared your frustration with the slow or non-existent response from the city on fundamental issues like traffic concerns and neighborhood maintenance. And you've voiced your desire for safer, engaging places for our children to play and grow.
I want you to know that I hear you, and these are not just isolated complaints. They are symptoms of a larger problem: a lack of competent, long-term planning and fiscal discipline at City Hall.
This is exactly why I’m running. My entire campaign is built on a commitment to get the basics right.
To address affordability, I will bring my experience as an entrepreneur and a Mayor to restore sound financial management, stopping the cycle of wasteful spending that leads to tax and rate hikes.
To address quality of life, from parks to street maintenance, I will use my expertise as a city planner to implement a real Capital Improvement Plan—a strategic roadmap to ensure our investments are smart, effective, and serve every neighborhood.
To address city responsiveness, I will work to make our government a true partner to its citizens again, ensuring your calls are answered and your concerns are taken seriously.
Your concerns are my priorities. For the love of Burlington, let's get to work fixing them.
